My studio is located in Gore, Quebec. I produce a wide range of stoneware forms that are both functional and sculptural in nature. I draw my creative energy from the environment's peace and tranquility which is mirrored in the earth colours and textures of my work. I work in cycles of throwing, decorating and firing small groups of related vessels which hopefully results in fresh and vital forms. It also permits a development of a form that I wish to explore.
With functional work, my inclination is to keep it simple, and have it function well so that there is the pleasure of using it for the purpose for which it was intended. The glazes that I use are created from various oxides, clay, feldspars etc as well as different wood ashes.
