Empty bowls

Saturday, July 26, and Sunday, July 27 !

Empty Bowls originated in Michigan in 1990. It is a grassroots movement organized by artists and artisans in many cities around the world to fight hunger and raise awareness about the importance of sharing.

In Val-David, ceramic artist Robin Hutchinson has been the driving force behind this collective initiative for many years. Ceramicists volunteer their time to create bowls using clay generously donated by The Pottery House. Over one weekend, visitors to 1001 Pots are invited to decorate the bowls, which are then glazed and sold in September during the Val-David Farmers' Market. All proceeds are donated to the Val-David Food Bank.

This year, Empty Bowls will take place on Saturday, August 9, and Sunday, August 10.
