Rosalie Gingras

Passionate about the arts and nature, I've always enjoyed exploring various forms of artistic expression. It was during a sculpture course at Cégep that I discovered the art of shaping clay. It was a revelation: I was immediately seduced by this art form that metamorphoses raw material and revives my childhood fascination with clay. I love the organic, unpredictable nature of pottery. From modelling to the final firing, clay never ceases to surprise me, leading me to let go and allow the natural elements to perfect each piece.

I like to play with shapes, lines and contrasts. To achieve this, I frequently use the sgraffito technique, which consists of applying a thin layer of colored underglaze before hand-engraving an image, drawing or motif. This process enables me to add a graphic dimension to my work, enriching its expressiveness and texture.

A look at what you will discover.
