Skagen Art

I fashion large, hand-built vessels that happily step away from the rigidity of "perfect" design, using the surface as a canvas for vibrant folk-art designs and elements of art naïf. Combining functional pottery with spontaneous painting, I decorate my asymmetrical silhouettes with bright colors, simplified shapes, and traditional-inspired patterns.

This collection represents a playful milestone in my broader journey as a muti-disciplinary artist—a deliberate break from expectations. By blending utilitarian pottery with naive storytelling, I celebrate an authentic, unadulterated joy of creation and an unburdened expression of self. I craft functional art to be lived with, touched, and thoroughly enjoyed.

My work is inspired by the creative philosophy of the Skagen painters’ colony, a movement that seeks to find profound beauty in intimate, everyday scenes and to capture light even in the darkest or most mundane moments of human life. By positioning these vessels as sculptural forms conducive to contemplation, they offer a refuge in a fast-paced world that too often overlooks the way sunlight enters a home through the cracks of its existence.

I hope viewers may feel a mix of comfort and lightheartedness. These sculptural forms offer a peaceful sanctuary from a somber world. It is an open invitation to abandon the serious and celebrate the delightfully imperfect.

This is pottery for the unapologetically joyful.

A look at what you will discover.
