I chose clay as my medium for its malleability and fragility, yet its fragments possess the strength to endure time and the elements. My work is deeply influenced by the concept of time, as I create an ongoing series that explores Nature and Geography, with a particular focus on water and its physical and spiritual significance in our lives. The vessel form serves as a conduit for the viewer’s memory, allowing a reconnection with the history of ceramics. Through the transformation of form and surface, I weave narratives that resonate in the present.
My ongoing series delves into the intricate relationship between nature, specifically water, and our emotions. The layers of information and surface treatment emphasize certain aspects of the work, creating a textured narrative. I aim to bridge the gap between our landscapes and emotions, acknowledging that our perspective is often constrained by our scale and viewpoint. It is fascinating how landscapes evolve through our knowledge and imagination, becoming symbols and manifestations across time.
