Isabelle is a ceramist, florist and horticulturalist. Her different postures enable her to study the timelessness and precariousness of matter, in other words, to work with nature rather than against it. Her work is contemporary and instinctive: motifs evolve according to gesture and mood, which for her evokes the present moment. Intuition guides her in every gesture, and this is what builds her work into a direct, non-formal expression. Since her ceramics residency at Rozynski, she has been developing a sculptural approach to her work. For her, the everyday object is a unique piece that each person chooses for its craftsmanship and playfulness, far beyond the utilitarian and the sacred.
