Welcome to 1001 POTS

Created in 1989 by Kinya Ishikawa, the 1001 Pots exhibition highlights the excellence of contemporary Quebec ceramics. Welcoming nearly a hundred Quebec artisans each year and offering educational and recreational activities, 1001 Pots is more than an exhibition, it's the biggest ceramics event in Canada! After more than thirty years at the helm of 1001 Pots, in 2021, Kinya Ishikawa passed the torch to Sacha Ghadiri and Nouchine Dardachti.

Through the exhibition of utilitarian pieces and artistic works of all genres and formats, the presence of artists in residence, the varied demonstrations as well as the musical, poetic and theatrical performances, the event is a summer must-see in an enchanting setting.

A summer focal point for ceramic enthusiasts, 1001 Pots invites you to its ceramic exhibition every summer! Embedded in the sylvan beauty of the Laurentians, in the heart of the charming village of Val-David, the exhibition presents the excellence of contemporary Quebec ceramics.

Deployed on our magnificent site, the works of artisans come together in all kinds and formats, assembled by creator or by exterior and interior thematic sections to help you discover the wonders of local artisans. And give you the opportunity to acquire them!

& of people

1001 Pots multiplies the opportunities to discover more about the world of ceramics and to exchange with the creators. They welcome you the evening of the opening to inaugurate the event under the lights of 1001 “fireflies”. Every day, a different craftsman presents his work and introduces you to the different techniques presented. Demonstrations, contests and workshops animate the weekends. In addition, a friendly bowl-turning competition draws on the talents of creators to create a fun event, but above all to provide bowls to the organization “Bowl in Sharing”.

You can also enjoy the work of our artists in residence in real time. Does all this whet your appetite? Sign up for our introductory throwing workshops for ages 12 and over or, for those who want more, for the one-week intensive adult throwing course! Are your children's curiosity itching? Register them at the shaping workshop as you wander around leisurely. Many possibilities are available to you for pleasure and discovery.
