Daniel Gingras

A graduate of CEGEP du Vieux Montréal, I have been a potter since 1981. Working with clay, the enamelling and firing traditions of Japanese and Korean craftsmen, as well as the privileged place that ceramics occupies in their everyday life are a huge source of inspiration for me. I had the chance to participate in workshops related to ceramics, in Japan, in 2010 and 2012.

I enjoy creating unique turned and shaped pieces that I deform in a very spontaneous way. I love the textures, the stains of engobes applied in a gestural way. I am fascinated by the interplay of glazes. I mainly work with stoneware but also high temperature porcelain. I bake in a wood oven to add flame and ash effects to my creations.

My utility pieces are microwave and dishwasher safe.

A look at what you will discover.
