My work focuses primarily on functional ceramics for tableware and decorative objects. I founded Laume after completing my DEC in Fine Arts at the Centre de Céramique Bonsecours in Montreal. A fascination with unpredictability lies at the heart of my artistic process. It is this interplay between control and chance that fuels my desire to create. Each piece becomes an expression of this duality, transforming everyday objects into small works of art that tell stories through their textures and forms.
For my Knut collection, I use a textured glaze, which not only adds captivating visual and sensory dimensions but also makes each piece unique due to its random appearance that comes to life in the kiln. The Sidullée collection also explores the role of chance by mixing colored slip within the mold. As a result, the final design is only revealed when the piece is removed from the mold.
