Wai-Yant Li has been a ceramic artist for over 20 years. Born in Alma, Quebec, to parents who immigrated from Hong Kong and the Guangdong region, they later moved to Montreal to pursue training in the arts and crafts at the Bonsecours Ceramics Center. Since then, Wai-Yant has been creating hand-thrown pieces that are both functional and playful, with the hope of bringing a little joy to our daily lives. They have also been involved in various projects in the arts and culture community. Notably, Wai-Yant co-organized Qouleur, an arts festival for queer, trans, and racialized people.

In 2023, Wai-Yant founded Studio 3 Tables, a ceramics studio aimed at encouraging creative activities among Black, Indigenous, and people of color. Studio 3 Tables is committed to making pottery more accessible to marginalized communities by offering affordable workshops and classes.
