Mélina Schoenborn

Mélina shapes her works by hand, using clay doves placed one on top of the other. Conceiving her works as individuals of clay that can interact with each other, the artist plays with the notion of the utilitarian and the non-utilitarian. Halfway between “pottery” and “sculpture”, the artist wishes to bridge these fields of expression, inviting the public to take an interest in both. Recipient of grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec, the artist has exhibited her work at Centre Materia and Galerie La Guilde.
